IQS316 readied for production
The IQS316 is a valuable extension to the ProxSense™ portfolio.  The IQS316 offers 16 channels of surface capacitive keys with proximity detection distributed over multiple keys.  As with all 2nd generation ProxSense™ devices, the IQS316 features ATI and ICI.  ATI is a powerful peripheral that automatically compensates for sensitivity reducing objects in the sensing environment, yielding unprecedented sensitivity for surface capacitance technology.

On-chip settings are fully configurable through either the SPI or I2C serial interface.  Higher flexibility in the acquisition speed allows for more robust designs against steam and moisture on the touch keys.  COB samples are available for evaluation with mass production planned for Q4, 2010.
